Kaloyan Bukovski


Kaloyan Bukovski was born on 06.02.1992 in Ruse, Bulgaria. He graduated from the National High School of Mathematics and Science with the special award “Lyubomir Chakalov” for his achievements in the area of mathematical research.

Kaloyan was awarded multiple prizes and medals on national and international level in the field of synthetic geometry during his high school years. His scientific work was published in various mathematical journals. He was also the editor-in-chief in “NPMG today” high-school newspaper and vice-chairman of the school’s student council. Kaloyan received multiple awards by “1000 scholarships”, George Marshall Association Bulgaria and the British Council’s European Researchers' Night in Bulgaria.

Kaloyan completed his BSc (Hons) and MSc degrees from the University of Edinburgh where he was also elected as the President of the Bulgarian Society. He studied Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Optimisation followed by his first professional role as a Credit Risk Analyst at UK Asset Resolution (now part of Computershare UK). Kaloyan is currently working as a Senior Consultant at ‘Sopra Steria Group’, an international leader in digital financial solutions. His work is primarily focused on mathematical modelling solutions and statistical forecasting at the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The main areas of his professional expertise are data science, credit risk and financial transactions. Kaloyan is also the founder of ‘New time Bulgarians’ – a cultural project aiming to promote Bulgarian musicians and artists across the Bulgarian diaspora.
