Valentin Mihov

Valentin Mihov was born on 10.07.1992 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He graduated top of his class from the European School of Frankfurt. He then pursued his undergraduate studies in the University of Cambridge, where he earned a First Class bachelor’s degree in Economics. He then specialised in Financial Economics, pursuing a master’s degree in the University of Oxford, while obtaining full funding from the merit-based Clarendon Fund Scholarship. He graduated top of the class. Currently, Valentin is a consultant in London and helps companies overcome diverse strategic challenges. He is interested in music (from funk to minimal), as well as economics and finance.

Velislava Petrova

Velislava Petrova was born in Sandanski on 05.06.1990. She graduated from the National High School of Mathematics and Science with a Golden Diploma in Biology and Biotechnology. At the age of 18 she was awarded a scholarship to attend the XLAB International Science Camp in Goettingen, Germany where she worked on projects in Drosophila Development, Organic Chemistry and Astrophysics.

After her research experience in Germany, she moved to do a Bachelor Degree in Virology at the University of Bristol, UK. She finished her degree as top of her class and was awarded the University prize for most innovative research project. During her Bachelor degree, she is also one of 3 students selected to do a placement in bioinformatics at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, where she works on methods for monitoring the  evolution of Norovirus, HIV and HCV. Since 2013 Velisava is a holder of a Wellcome Trust 4-year PhD Scholarship and she investigates the relationship between vaccination and autoimmune diseases.

Dobromir Tochilarov

Dobromir Tochilarov was born in Gabrovo on 5th July 1991. From the age of 12 he attended the Sofia High School of Mathematics and competed in maths and physics. For his accomplishments there Dobromir earned scholarships from organisations such as the American Foundation for Bulgaria, “1000 scholarships” and the Sofia Municipality. He continued his higher education at the University of Cambridge where he graduated as a Master of Electrical and Electronics engineering. Upon leaving university Dobromir worked as a radio frequency electronics hardware designer at Cambridge Communication Systems. Today he works as a automation test engineer at RealVNC. In 2016 Dobromir successfully passed level 1 of the CFA program. He enjoys filling his spare time with Project Euler problems and cooking.

Liana Minkova

Liana Minkova was born on November, 4th in 1993. She has a BA in International Politics from King’s College London and an award for Best Overall Performance. Her undergraduate thesis on the role of oil and gas in foreign policy, with reference to Russia and Saudi Arabia, received the highest grade in the Department of Political Economy. Liana has done internships at the Bulgarian National Assembly, the Office of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Embassy in London. While at King’s, she was chosen to participate as a research fellow in a project evaluating and comparing the quality of democracy in Central and Eastern Europe.

Liana holds an MPhil in International Relations and Politics from the University of Cambridge, with a particular focus on international security and human rights. She is a PhD student in Politics and International Studies at the University of Cambridge and has received a full studentsip from the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Her research proposal examines the compatibility of the concept of individual criminal responsibility with the collective nature of international crimes.

Lora Beltcheva

Lora Beltcheva was born in 1996 in Sofia. She pursued her high school education at the American College of Sofia, from which she graduated with honors and received the class award for contribution to student life. During her high school years, she joins the Bulgarian entrepreneurship club Start It Smart, though which she organizes a series of lectures and workshops in the sphere of entrepreneurship and business, specifically designed for students. During one of her summers in high school, she works as a volunteer in the office of a non-profit foundation supporting children with disabilities. During summer 2016, she completes an internship with the economic adviser of the President of Bulgaria. Since September 2015, Lora is pursuing a major in Economics and Sustainable Development at Columbia University in New York. Aside from Millennium, she currently participates in a transatlantic think-tank with a focus on European affairs.

Nikola Apostolov

Nikola Apostolov was born in 1991 in Havana, Cuba. He was raised in Sofia, Bulgaria where he obtains a French Baccalaureate in Social and Economic sciences.

Later, he completed his undergraduate studies in Economics at the University of Amsterdam. Besides his interest in Economics and Business, Nikola is also passionate about international relations and has completed internships at the Bulgarian representation to the EU in Brussels and at UNESCO's HQ in Paris.

He then pursued a CEMS (Global Community in Management Education) double degree in International Management in HEC Paris and ESADE Business School (Barcelona) where he was accepted with a merit-based scholarship. During his studies Nikola was involved in various student initiatives and became the President of the CEMS Club Barcelona.

After graduating, Nikola worked as a business consultant and is currently a digital strategy consultant in Paris.

Ognyan Zhelyazkov

Ognyan Zhelyazkov is part of the Knowledge Management team of the London-based international financial institution, the "European Bank for Reconstruction and Development". Ognyan holds a Masters Degree in Political Economy of Development from SOAS University of London, where he was awarded a full scholarship; and a bachelor's degree in International Politics from King's College London. Ognyan has also accumulated professional experience in the analytical, consulting and advisory units of leading British NGOs and research universities. Born in Sliven, Ognyan is a graduate of the First English Language School - Sofia. He is interested in policy work that contributes to Bulgarian economic convergence towards the average level of prosperity of the EU, and in understanding the impact of current and future demographic trends and their influence on the desired economic growth of "transition countries".

Richard Mihaylov

Richard Mihaylov was born on 24 August 1995 in Sofia. After seven years of advance studies in German language he continued his education at the American College in Sofia. Upon graduation he received the Floyd Black award and the awards of the ‘Sports’ and the ‘Mathematics and IT’ departments. In 2018 he completed his MEng degree at the University of Cambridge, specialising in Civil and Structural Engineering. While at Cambridge, Richard was selected as vice-captain of the University volleyball team, which competed in the highest division of the national student league and received the prestigious Half-Blue award (the highest distinction for a nontraditional British sport). Despite his busy training schedule, Richard found time to manage the financial accounts of the Bulgarian society at the University CantaBulgarian and was elected as treasurer three years in a row. He further reached the final stage of the eminent international competition in construction business Global Student Challenge organised by the Chartered Institute of Building. In his free time Richard could be found on the road somewhere in the UK doing his usual 100+ cycling workout for fun.

Hristo Boshnakov

Hristo Boshnakov was born on 19. 04. 1993 in Sofia and completed his secondary education at 133 School “A. S. Pushkin”. After, he continued his further education at Paris Institute of Political Studies and was selected to complete his Bachelor at the University of Oxford - Merton College in 2015, where he studied PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) and Modern languages. After having received a BA in “Political Science and Government”, he subsequently chose to pursue a Master's program of “Finance and Strategy” at the School of Management and Innovation at Sciences Po in Paris. Hristo participated in numerous International Models of the United Nations and international leadership forums and also completed a number of successful placements in international companies, NGOs and government institutions. He worked in the Department of Financial Services Consulting at MAZARS LLP London and in the Department Official Institutions Coverage at BNP PARIBAS Paris. Currently he works in the General Inspection BNP PARIBAS Paris. Interests - finance, economics, history and geopolitics.
