Richard Mihaylov

Richard Mihaylov was born in 1995 in Sofia. After seven years of advance studies in German language he continued his education at the American College in Sofia. Upon graduation he received the Floyd Black award and the awards of the ‘Sports’ and the ‘Mathematics and IT’ departments. In 2018 he completed his MEng degree at the University of Cambridge, specialising in Civil and Structural Engineering. While at Cambridge, Richard was selected as vice-captain of the University volleyball team, which competed in the highest division of the national student league and received the prestigious Half-Blue award (the highest distinction for a nontraditional British sport). Despite his busy training schedule, Richard found time to manage the financial accounts of the Bulgarian society at the University CantaBulgarian and was elected as treasurer three years in a row. He further reached the final stage of the eminent international competition in construction business Global Student Challenge organised by the Chartered Institute of Building.

Since the summer of 2018, Richard is working as a Structural Engineer on groundbreaking London projects for the australian company "Robert Bird Group".

In his free time Richard could be found on the road somewhere in the UK doing his usual 100+ cycling workout for fun, or in the sportshall playing for the Bulgarian volleyball team - BG Lions London.
